Do you guys think that it's okay to murder someone if there's a certain reason to do so? We were talking about a hero's moral I guess. But I want to know how your opinion about a case that I came up with. For fun Okay so, Let's say there's a person who killed your good friend. You are outraged and plan to take a revenge for your friend However, you soon realize that that person is a single mom who suffers from poverty and has a 2 year old baby that isn't nourished properly. Also, you found out that the person had her sister who was sexually and eventually killed by a group of teenagers, including your friend. But you aren't unsure whether your friend was directly involved in killing the murderer's sister. Finally, it is proven that the murderer didn't kill your friend intentionally but rather was an accident. What would you do and why? Would you still risk yourself to carry out a revenge? Or would you believe that your friend's death was his or her fate? I honestly don't know what I'll do because this scenario that I just made up is extremely complicated and doesn't make sense. And I will not personally share my answer because I might be seen as a jerk. Please comment!!! hehe

I'm not sure what I'm going to do but if I have moral I cannot do anything bad to the woman because if think about this situation the woman who killed my friend is totally unhappy. I should not revenge her but if it happen to me I'm not sure I can control myself or not.

I 100 percents sure killing people is not okay, even if it's revenge for a person who is very important for you. If my friend is killed by someone, I may think that I really wanna kill the murder. But If I do that, It's same as a murder.

I didn't really get your case (sorry) but to answer your question ,if it's okay to kill someone, I don't think it's okay unless it is for self defense. It all depends on the your situation.

I don't think I should carry out the revenge because I believe the mother should be punished in a different way; killing the murderer would make yourself another murderer. However, I do not think killing should be totally prohibited, no matter what the case is. I believe execution is needed. The reason why I say execution is valid is because a person has done enough certain action that killing the person is rather the right person to punish him or her. For example, I believe executing the captain of the Sewol Ferry is right. If he didn't escape from the drowning ferry and survived somehow, I do not want him to be executed. However, either by accident or not, he made hundreds of innocent people to death and ran away, ignoring his responsibility of his actions. This means he is not regretful of what he did, deserving execution.

I also agree with most of the responses above. Even if a person that i realllllly care about (including family members + friends) was taken away from me by another person, i will definitely be in great despair, but i don't believe that i should take the life of another. Despite the vengeance that i will definitely have, killing that "murderer" might bring the same tragedy towards another family or a group of people. This comes down to the simplest and basic concept that if you don't want others to treat u in a certain way, don't do so towards others~ This idea is a less severe case, but i think my point of view takes the path of this simple idea. But this shouldn't be one sided. I think the "murderer" must pay some sort of price. Not in terms of money or any other monetary compensations, but instead GREAT sorrow and regret + rehabilitation to prevent any further potential harm to other families.
However, now that i think more about this topic… what kind of people will commit such heinous crime??? o.o…. for now i can't think of any legit justification… i'm starting to feel that such criminal deserves great punishment… either execution or some sort of quarantine from the society.

people have their own reason to hate someone even want to kill someone. However if everyone can do it reckless, the rule of world will be chaotic, so we need perfectly law to punishment bad things.

A very hard decision in deed, but I think that I would not kill her.
I believe that in any standards, nor in any circumstance is killing justified. To me it is a sin, a crime and a burden like no other, even if it was an accident.
However, this does not mean that I won't kill no matter what situation I am in. If the circumstance is given, I can kill, and I will probably hesitate but I will probably do it given the circumstance. Even though, I know it is a crime and a sin to me, I will still do it. I will regret it, and will probably live my life in misery with the fact that I killed someone, but I will do it.
That is only when the situation is given, and I have no other choice. However, this situation to me is not as serious for me to actually kill the person. First, it was an accident for her to kill my friend, and that to me is huge, she had no evil intent nor any scheme to kill my friend. It was a mere accident and I think I will be satisfied with just handing her over to the judges to decide her punishment.
Perhaps if the situation was a bit different than I would change my actions. Maybe if the murderer intentionally killed my friend. And I rage, and uncontrollably, and scheme to kill the murderer. After her death, I would bring the 2-year old kid to a safe house then, turn my self in for my murder. This is the only case when I would actually kill someone, and if I do, I won't run away from it.

I don't think revenge is the best idea, because in beowulf they talk about the never ending cycle of revenge that blood feuds cause, and i don't want to get sucked up in that. What I'd do is seek justice for my friend's sake. I definitely wouldn't kill my friend's murderer, because then I'd be the bad guy. However, if I testified at the murderer's trial then I'd feel that my friend would be at rest, wherever they were. Also I'm gonna ignore the part about the murder being an accident because if it was accidental then i wouldn't feel the need for avenging my friend? And also it doesn't count as murder because the person didn't have the intention of killing my friend.

I can't say that killing someone would be necessary because if you were to kill someone, then you would feel responsibility of killing even though that person might be someone that you hate. I might not be able to forgive the woman, but I believe that she should be punished in some way because what she did was taking revenge for what the group of teenager did to her and if I were to take my revenge on that woman, how would I be different from her?

You should become a writer man.. hahaha that was one intense story right there. So, in my opinion, I've always been thinking that killing cannot be justified in any way. I think we've already talked about this topic before in class 2 years ago, and I think my answer is still the same. That taking away someone's life should not be and cannot be justified in any reason. If i were to be a guy who loses his family or friend, despite my answer above, I would definitely take revenge...Revenge indeed isn't the best idea, but thinking that there is nothing else to do in such situation, if one thing I could do is to take revenge on the culprit, I would do so

I wouldn't murder that woman. I would just pity her. It would actually change my mind of murdering her. She will have to live her life with her killing someone. That is punishment enough. I wouldn't murder someone when that someone did something to hurt me. Murdering someone would cause me pain, I don't want that. I want that person to suffer, not me. So instead, I would just revenge that person in another way that would not affect me.

It is pretty messed up situation, but I would not carry on with the revenge just due to the circumstances. It's actually hard to give an answer to this question, the main reason for me not taking a revenge is that the person has a child, especially not well nourished. If i would kill that person what would happen to baby? Baby hasn't done anything wrong and if i kill his mother, he would be all alone with no one to take care of him. He would die or end up in Orphanage house which is not such a good place to live in. I might be wrong, but i think revenges are ok in some cases, even though it sounds wrong i still strongly believe that it's acceptable. We are humans and we have feelings, revenge is just another way to show it, of course if we face with situation such as Brandon have shown it isn't suitable then. You've got to think of consequences of what your revenge might cause, also revenge does not have to be kill for a kill, just get that person in jail for the rest of his or her life and that's probably be for the best. For now i think no one would know how to react to it, simply because no one has ever been face to a such critical situation.

I think murdering is one of the worst things to do, however, I think it is permissible to kill someone like psychopath because sometimes it is suuuuper dangerous to let that kind of person live.... but still murder is really bad!!!
If I was in that situation I won't kill that woman because I think taking a revenge is meaningless and stupid. I will feel sorry for the woman's terrible condition, however, I don't think I will forgive her even though if it was an accident since she killed my good friend and my friend will never be back again. ;(
