We are reading through the introduction of Frankenstein, and I have to admit that the beginning of it is totally different from what I expected it to be. I expected a narrative of a scientist scheming of a dangerous and mysterious project. However, he is now on a journey to the North and have met a random dude, who seemingly has nothing to do with the story.
I would like to know your reflection of its introduction and predictions of what is going to happen next.

Before I read Frankenstein,I though it will be lots of hard scientist technical words but not.I was so surprised the beginning of this story is from a letter that he wrote to his sister,it is totally different from I expected and it makes me want to know the story more.I think the story will be about in the future he probably will fail his experiment (but I don't know what kind of the experiment will be) so he feels isolated.Time passed,he feels himself dose not fit into the society and other people he is master because he is anti-social.

I was also surprised about the beginning of the story. It sounds interesting and it is a format that is not common. I became curious about Walton, the man he rescued, and the man who is running away from that man. I predict that the man Walton rescued was the creator of Frankenstein and the giant man controlling dog sled was Frankenstein. At the end of the story, I think the story will take place in the same place from Letter 4.

It's very interesting and expected. I'm beginning to like the story, and interested to find out more.

i also surprised that this book start with the four letters. I am curious about walton. when he saved one guy in the ship. I think the guy might become his friend and i also assumed that the guy is creator of Frankenstein.

It was very new to me to read four letters for introduction in book. I thought that these four letters will be related to story that we are going to read about. I think Frankenstein will just tell his story in the book.

While reading the first three chapters, the only thing running through my mind was 'Where is the mad doctor who created Frankenstein?' and my first thought was that Walton the captain was a pre-sanity-slippage Doctor Frankenstein. But now that he met the guy in the sledge who was chasing the gigantic man, I think that he's the guy who created frankenstein, and that the gigantic man he is chasing is the monster.

Obviously the stranger would be Victor and the creature he is looking for would be Frankenstein. However, I didn't expect that Frankenstein would be at the North Pole. Didn't Robert say that it was an "exploration" to the North? Then how is it that Victor is already there? Is the North already explored and average people can simply reach there with enough resources? This point confused me quite much. But I guess I can ignore a few catches in a good story.

After reading the first two letters, I thought Walton will explore a new island then all of his sailors die for a reason. Walton get isolated and bored, he invented Frankenstein who kill people that land on the island later. However, the story and my prediction don't seem alike. i think it will take a long time till Frankenstein appears.

Before I read Frankenstein, I thought Frankenstein is bad and scary monster. And I didn't know that he was originally human. After I read this, I think I love this story a lot because this is kind of sad story cuz I like tragedy.

Before I read Frankenstein, I thought it was about a supernatural figure that was created by the mad scientist to destroy the world. However, it turns out that Frankenstein wasn't a supernatural force. I don't think the man who was on the journey was a scientist. I think the person whom Walton met, Victor Frankenstein was probably real mad scientist.

I liked how the author made the introduction of the story interesting and unique. Unlike other stories that divide the sections by chapters, it starts off with letter 1. It clearly drags people's attention because it is unusual. I love how it is unpredictable.

The 1~4 letters in the beginning of the Frankenstein was pretty interesting. The story of Dr.Frankenstein is starting as letters that are telling the story. I just finished chapter 1 and I'm really expecting about next chapters!
