Q: Is it better to plan your actions beforehand or act upon instinct, and which way of thinking is better for a hero to take?
A: we came up with conclusion that depending on situation we are in plan before taking action and following instinct differs. Some situations planning beforehand will be the best choice, while in other situations following your instinct is better. Q:Is it human nature to plan your actions beforehand or act upon instinct?
A:We believe it is human nature to act upon instinct rather than planning our action before. For example we eat, breath, drink, and reproducing is things we do without thinking, these 4 things we do daily as human comes from instinctual action. We simply don’t go and think to eat, we eat when we feel hungry and the feel we call hungry comes from instinct.
Q:What different types of instincts are there?
A:instinct to eat, to fear danger, to reproduce,
Q:Should you trust your judgment?
A:Depends on your condition(?)
Q:On which situations in general does planning beforehand or acting upon instinct serve better?
A:planning - lot of time, group decisions
instinct - life & death, no time, involves only you

Percy Blackeney is the character I will like to refer to this essential question. Because Percy Blackney is the Scarlet Pimpernel he acts everything after thinking. However the thinking became so natural that it became like instcint, so he acts different in front of all the people he knows he acts like Percy Blackney, but inside he will be Scarlet Pimpernel. This shows how Percy acts on instinct some times, and it is possible that planning before taking action can become instinct and same for opposite ways.

Q1: Is it human nature to plan your actions beforehand or act upon instinct?
A: Marguerite proves to be a good example of how it is human nature to act upon instinct. As the story goes on, she has to make many decisions of what to do, of what action to take. For most of the time so far, she was relatively impulsive with her actions, being swayed by her emotions and took immediate action before careful consideration. This is especially shown where she heads off to warn her husband as soon as she discovers that he is the Scarlet Pimpernel.
Q2: What different types of instincts are there?
A: To Marguerite, though she does show some degree of the instinct to flee from danger, it seems that her instinct for love dominates for the most time. When it came to deciding upon the safety of her brother, she chose to sell of the Scarlet Pimpernel rather than risk her brother's safety. When it came to the safety of her husband who turned out to be the Scarlet Pimpernel, she chose to risk her own life than flee from danger. Marguerite is a very emotional woman which adds detail to why her instinct to act upon her emotions, specifically love, comes to take control throughout the situations she faces.
Q3: Should you trust your judgment?
A: Marguerite shouldn't always blindly trust her own judgement. This pretty much goes to everyone, but we're aren't always perfect with our decisions and thus need the advice of others. An example from the story is where Marguerite decides to go warn Percy by telling him that Chauvelin is after him and thus bring him safely back to England, but Sir Andrew reminds her that she wouldn't be able to do that since Sir Percy would stay behind for those he promised to save in France.
Q4: On which situations in general does planning beforehand or acting upon instinct serve better?
A: For Marguerite, in almost all of her situations planning beforehand served to be better. For example, when Chauvelin came into the building in France and Percy soon followed, if she impulsively went out to warn Percy, then she would've ruined the whole situation. It was a good choice to stay behind and believe that Percy would solve the matter in his own clever way.
Essential Question: Is it better to plan your actions beforehand or act upon instinct, and which way of thinking is better for a hero to take?
A: For Marguerite, it seems that she should plan beforehand if possible since her decisions through her instincts don't seem to be the best choices she made. She is often corrected by others and thus thinks over her plans again. However, considering that life and death situations are going on within the story, in these cases there might not be enough time to assess every aspect of the situation. In these cases, simply following her instincts may prove to be the better alternative for the sake of saving time.
