Okay, so this is a series of questions that stemmed from this essential question: 1.)What do you have to control?
We said that we have to control from temptations such as sexual desires, smoking, and drinking in order to thrive. Also, we have to think before we speak. In Scarlett Pimpernel, Marguerite both shows and doesn't show self control. Even if she wanted to tell Percy to leave, she resisted herself because the soldiers were there. However, before everything happened, Marguerite puts herself in a situation of having to choose between her brother and her husband. This is a result of lacking self control.
2.) What would happen without self-control?
Without self-control, there will be a chaos both for individuals and society.
3.) Is self-control in human nature?
No, self-control is against survival. We also naturally desire pleasures.

We can relate having self-control with Scarlet Pimpernel's characters. For my character, I chose Marguerite Blakeney showing self-control when she meets Chauvelin. When Chauvelin was disrespecting Sir Percy and Blackeney, she could have gone against him and showed opposition against him. However, she endured her anger so that the situation doesn't get into a chaos. If she had shown anger towards Chauvelin, I think she might have been made Sir Percy's situation worse.
