To change something for the better, we should take risks and make great sacrifices. So, yes, I think they are necessary. I think there's a quote that goes something like: nothing great ever comes off easy. It needs great sacrifices.

I agree with what lin said. Sacrifice is necessary because everyone has different wants and needs and with our limited resources, we cannot satisfy every single people on earth. Some people will have to give up what they want. If there is no sacrifice, there would be fight everywhere so that everyone tries to get their needs. To end things and disputes peacefully, they need to know what to give up and make priorities.

Yes, sometimes I think sacrifices are necessary in some situations. The atomic bombing that happened in Hiroshima was surely devastating. Millions of people died and were injured badly. But due to the atomic bombing, Japan, one of the members of the Axis, surrendered. Japan's surrender somewhat contributed to the end of the World War II. If the atomic bombing didn't occur, there's a chance that World War II continued and led to more deaths of other people around the world. The atomic bombing was surely horrible and I feel so sorry for those Japanese victims. But I think some kind of sacrifice had to happen to stop the war. Sadly the choice had to be the atomic bombing.

I believe that sacrifices are necessary to bring big changes. For example, people will always fail at some point of their life and learn something from it. Then they will never make those mistakes again later. Just like this, if an inventor made a mistake and some sacrifices, the inventor will figure out the solution and make it into a better invention.

I also think sacrifice is needed in order to achieve something, there is always that trade-off. If there was not sacrifices it would be too easy to achieve anything and chaos will be brought upon everyone. For ex: everyone can relate to going to college and the point of college is to get a good job in future with the given education but in order to do that you have to sacrifice sometime to study instead of hanging out, it's a weak example but i hope you get the idea.

If something needs to be improved, change must occur. If everything is perfectly fine, then why should people change? Here's a very typical example. If one realizes that he or she isn't getting grades that he or she expect to get, one can examine the way he or she is preparing for the test. If there is a flaw, then change must occur in order to improve the scores. If one remains the same, then the outcome remains the same as well. The outcome always reflects the amount of effort

Sacrifice is definitely something that is needed in order to make a big change. We cannot satisfy everyone's needs all at the same time and that is why we have to learn to agree to disagree.
