In A Tale of Two cities, I realized that a big sacrifice is made in order to bring about a better future. For example, the rich aristocrats are being slaughtered in the hopes of the poor gaining freedom and equality. The old government system is also being sacrificed in order for a new fitting system for the people.
So I was wondering if sacrifices are necessary to bring big changes?

I think sacrifice is necessary because we cannot satiate everyone. Everyone has different wants and needs and with our limited resources, we cannot satisfy every single people on earth. Some have to give up what they want, and step back from their plan. If there is no sacrifice, there would be fight everywhere so that everyone tries to get their needs. To end things and disputes peacefully, they need to know what to give up and make priorities.

Yes, whenever we do something a trade off of something is needed for a better cause. However, this should not be a justification for mass murder and sacrifice on human life for the greater good. One can only sacrifice one's own being. One cannot use others' being and life for sacrifice unless it is given to one from the people themselves.

In order to gain something people are willing to do anything even giving up what is important to them for a better good. Heroes for example are throwing away their personal and normal life to save the lives of many people. Sacrifices is something that requires a difficult choice, but what is important is what and how people are going to resolve this problem.

I believe that sacrifices are necessary to bring big changes, but that the degree of sacrifice may differ. In every change, there is a sacrifice that must be made, which is letting go of the older one. This sacrifice may turn out to be beneficial if the change itself was necessary, but in other cases, the end result may not turn out as planned or be deliberately designed to cause harm. Either way, good or bad, sacrifices are needed because we are no longer continuing with the old once we have brought out the new through our big changes.

Yes, i think so. If people want to gain something from the real life, he or she must need to sacrifice more things than others. The good thing such as good grades, high alary, or a luxury car or a enough large house that many peoplw want to get, we can only work hard to get those things. If we work hard on those complicated tasks, we need to firstly sacarfice our relax time and free time, then we could get the success.

Yes, I believe sacrifices are necessary to bring big changes to anything. However, the sacrifices doesn't have to be always death of someone, the sacrifice could be freedom, wants of goods, or something related to that.

In order to bring bing changes, yes, but whether is it always going to result positive results, no.
Scarification surely make huge changes. However, for example, it resulted really bad for those people who were killed in the French Revolution.

Sacrifice is needed for big change because if there is nothing that we lose, big change will be occurred. For example, when there was mad cow diseases, people killed all the cows to prevent mad cow disease to be infected to others. So sacrifice is needed for big change.

Without sacrifice, no one will ever attain something. For example, mothers to their children. Mothers always sacrifice to their children, for them to live a better life, or to attain something they have been wanting, but couldn't have. That cycle will continue, mothers to their children, to their children, and on going. That is why sacrifice is necessary, small to big.

I don't think that a sacrifice is absolutely necessary for a big change. If a change is needed, it means that there exists a problem. Often the first step in solving any problem is to change one's mindset and attitude. Such change wouldn't be counted as a sacrifice. At best, a sacrifice should be minimal other wise certain level of corruption exists. Any decision should yield more benefit than harm.

sacrifice is essential for better future. It is hard to satisfy everyone's opinion. For example if a conflict between two forces keeps on happenning, it is neccessary to get rid of the weaker force. The reason is the conflict will prevent people from imporving their society

I believe sacrifice is necessary for greater good, but the influence depends on the degree of sacrifice and the seriousness of the issue. For example, during the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Accident, lots of people around Soviet Union were forced to clean up radioactive materials all over the plant. Even though there were no further accidents after two explosions, over two hundred thousand people died as a result. In the long run, more people died due to radiation poisoning.

I agree with this because we can connect this to war that because of war, we get a better origination afterward. Also, you can get whatever you want and not sacrifice anything. Ex, you want to be good ad sport to sacrifice your time, sweat and energy.

Sacrifice is yes a good way to bring new changes. Although it may not always bring instant changes, it may gradually bring a change. For example, Christianity was not in Korea, and Christians were killed if they admit that they were Christians. These people did not deny their religion and sacrificed themselves for the future generations. Because of this sacrifice, as time passed, Christianity became a popular religion in Korea.
