So we have to make an artistic piece for our final projects. What is your group's art piece?

We are simply planning to cook something that royals enjoyed back in the 14th century England. Since our character is Sir Gawain, who comes from a royal family, we thought it was appropriate for us to cook something that only the royal families could have. We had to find a food that is not common in these days. Also something special in England back in the 14th century.

Our character is Sir Percy and we did cane (walking stick) because sir percy appears to be one of the most richest and fashionable men in England, cane is one one of the item that he probably had to keep himself in trend.

We made the holy grail which is from Last Supper. King Arthur spent his entire life looking for it because he wanted to meet God.

My group did Marguerite and we made bonnet for the cultural piece. Bonnet was a popular hat worn by European upper class women since the Middle Ages until 19th century. This hat kept hair tidy, kept dust out, and prevented wind. Bonnets usually cover chin over the forehead and down other side of the face. We made this with metal wires for hat’s base and Korean traditional papers for surface textile.

Our artistic piece was a sonnet written by Dante. Towards the end of La Vita Nuova, Dante expresses his desire to die. The part represented Dante's feelings after Beatrice's death. We were inspired by the love poem dedicated to Beatrice and wrote our own version of Dante’s poem. The poem is also pertinent to culture of Italy since the poem is arranged in Italian or Petrarchan sonnet form. Writing was a significant part of arts in the society that Dante was living in.

Our character was Beatrice and we really didn't know what to make for her since little information about her was known. We thought of making a dress for her, then decided to make her hometown, then later chose to make a perfume for her. We set her personality as loving to decorate herself. So, we made a perfume that she would normally wear. On top of that, we made some accessories that Beatrice would wear on special days.

Our cultural piece is a Horn, this was used in the mead hall in the geats and danes, the geats and the danes used to drink mead in the horn, This horn is made out of cup and clay. This horn is important to society because back then when they had a vicory they used to celebrate by drinking mead in that horn this shows culture that they were alcoholic, This was imprtant to Beowulf because he use to celevrate his achievements by drinking mead in the horn.
