As an international school, we have lots of different beliefs. I already know Christian, Buddhist and Muslim. (I'm not sure who is Hindduist in our school. Do you know anyone?) In addition, there are many people who are atheist like me. I'm not exactly atheist in that I don't really care about God and religion. But I often pray to the unknown god whenever I have big tests and events. Moreover, I kind of believe in fatalism, meaning that god controls over our life. It doesn't make sense if I add all of them up, but that is my general belief.
So what do you guys think about your belief regarding your afterlife, fatalism and more?
By the way I believe in aliens and ghosts, if they are considered to be one of the beliefs. Nonetheless, I hate ghosts and monsters.

I guess I would say I'm agnostic. I do believe in God, I think its good to have something to believe in to keep us going and to keep us good, but I don't quite agree with the rules of the religion I was born in. In a sense, I'm kind of similar to Lin in that I've created my own belief system, which I think Ms. Boyd talked about, by mishmashing parts of religions that I believe in. I do believe in an afterlife though. But something similar to purgatory, where you can work off your sins and get to heaven.

I have mixed opinion about afterlife. In fact, I never thought about afterlife deeply, but I think there is something afterlife such as hell and heaven. Even though my family doesn't believe in any religion, my parents told me that people who committed crime go to hell when I was little. So, my idea is kind of similar Christian. But I also think that human can reborn like belief in Buddhism. Also I believe in destiny like Lin's opinion. Everything is inevitable so, if I faced difficult problem, I think it as duty to me , and it was decided already.

I'm not exactly sure about this. In my opinion, we people only live once and just disappear from this world. I don't find the arguments of the dualists (that soul and body are separate) credible. However, I also recognize the possibility of the afterlife (maybe there's a heaven and hell). I think that having belief system in life is beneficial because people can have a goal to live and prepare themselves for the afterlife. It's just that it's not a proven "fact" but a belief. This why I question the idea of afterlife and presence of heaven or hell. But for me, I tend to focus on the present and care less about what will happen to me after I die because you live once here on Earth and that's an ultimate fact.

I think I'm agnostic in that I am a person who holds that the existence of the ultimate cause, as God, and the essential nature of things are unknown and unknowable, or that human knowledge is limited to experience. Though I am not quite sure about afterlife, I feel like there is something after death that will eventually lead us to something more profound for us to understand currently. The ultimate cause, obviously, will not be defined until I die but I do think that there is something deeper meaning to our lives; one of the reasons why I kind of question various religions and their practices. This might be cultural difference but I felt like I've always questioned religion throughout my life. So, to conclude, I believe there is something afterlife that is beyond our imagination/knowledge.

I believe in Christianity. I believe in the afterlife, fatalism, etc. I believe in heaven & hell. I believe that people who breaks the Ten Commandments, will go to hell, & the people who do good, goes to heaven. However, sometimes I question, because I think that everyone breaks the Ten Commandments at least once. So will everyone go to hell? Although I question, I still believe in heaven & hell.

I am Christian (Presbyterian specifically) and believe in heaven and hell. I believe that I should respect people, celebrate Christian holidays, and many more to enter heaven. If I believe in other religion, create my own religion, harm, lie, be jealous, or do other bad things, I will go to hell. I do not believe in fatalism. Currently, I think I am partially Christian because I don’t follow all rules mentioned in Bible.

I've always been taught that afterlife exists; God, heaven and hell exist and we have to follow his rules, avoid sins so that we could go to heaven. But as I grew up, I began questioning if this is true and wonder what I should believe in. The concept of afterlife sometimes seems unreal to me, because there isn't any way I can prove it. But I want to believe in the afterlife. Thinking that we'd just be nothing in the end sounds really sad; and the whole point of life becomes meaningless.

I'm a atheist so I believe that god has nothing to do with me. But, whenever, I'm in situations which I cannot control it or I need luck, I pray to the unknown god so I don't really know what is my belief system. Also, I believe in science which means I think that alien exists but not ghost though. However, I believe there is no afterlife so we all should live our life the way it is worthy.

Since i am a Christian, i believe i'm going to heaven if i follow the general rules of my religion. Sometimes, the belief that i am going to heaven when i die, i feel relieved somehow. Additionally, I wouldn't offense any other religion based on my religion.

My belief of afterlife is that there is nothing there. It is just a black world where there is no light, a place filled with darkness. I believe in no religion, so I believe that the afterlife is not really there, but just a dark area.

Although I am a Buddhist, I don't specifically know what happens afterlife in Buddhism. I personally think that people born again in different forms depending on what you have done during your life time. If you do something that is considered kind or good, you will born again as a human, and if you did something sin to others, you will be born into a different form other than human that is not as good as humans. Depending on the level of the sins that you have done, you will be born into different forms.

Because I am Christian I believe they has heaven and hell after life. I think it is depends what you believe. For Christian if you believe God and if you do good things you are going to heaven and if you are evil you going to hell. It is depends what you believes.

I am christian and i believe in after life, god, etc. My drive to believe in God is hope, when there is nothing to believe in or rely upon to i always ask God to do my favours, even though i am not sure if it helps or not it still makes me feel secure in some way. Of course i would love for all my prayers to come true, even though its unknown of them coming true just the idea of relying on someone brings out the relief and takes off the wight off of your shoulders. The only reason why i believe in after life is my being afraid of death, i dont know what's afterlife because no one ever visited it and came back. There is no scientific proof or any technology to find out whether it exists or not. I am afraid of never seeing people that i love and hold dear, i am just afraid of losing everything that i have.
