Yep...Actually,Percy Blakeney is the scarlet pimpernel. Why do I know because before reading this story I read the introduction of characters.Even thought we have been reading chapter 11 or more,But so far,I do not know why Percy Blakeney wants to pretend that he is stupid and hide his identity. Also we know ,the disguise is the one of major themes in the story.

Sir percy is the leader of the scarlet pimpernal. he try to act like a fool to cover the truth of being a leader. i think this is a smart action, it would reduce some trouble for his saving plan. he is a samrt and brave man. in some way, he is a denfination of hero.

Sir Percy is the Scarlet Pimpernel? Wow, I wouldn't thought of that. Up until the chapters we've read, he is described as stupid. He just cares about fashion, his wealth. He seems clueless and Marguerite hates him for that. She fantasized about how romantic and mysterious Scarlet P. is and feels really disconnected with her husband; while all this time her husband is Scarlet P. in disguise!

I never thought Percy could be Scarlet Pimpernel because of how the people describes him in the story. He is very 'stupid' and completely different from S.P. I don't think he is pretending like he's stupid because that means he has been acting for his whole life. The people in the story for example Merguerite probably knew Percy for quite a lot. And if she describes Percy as stupid, that means Percy has been acting stupid for a long time, which probably can be even before the S.P. came out. So, I think there is a low chance that Percy is the S.P.

The story mentions that: 1. Percy and Prince of Wales are close associates. 2. Percy appears to be lazy and dull. 3. Percy, however, reacts sharply to Marguerite's past. 4. Prince of Wales displays his support for the Scarlet Pimpernel.
Percy's sluggish appearance could serve as a great disguise as the entire nation knows him as a wealthy fool and would never suspect him to be the Scarlet Pimpernel~ This also explains why Percy reacts to Marguerite so uncharacteristically negative, as he puts his life under risk everyday saving aristocrats, same as those who Marguerite indirectly killed.

You know one of those stories where heroes pretend to be very stupid in an attempt to disguise themselves and to show people that they are just regular people. I think Percy might be doing that. I think he is just pretending to be an absolute fool and idiot in order to hide himself from the fact that he is actually Sacarlet Pimpernel. And i know that Percy is Scarlet Pimpernel because I googled! Muhahah

I suspected Percy as well for two reasons: 1. Percy always appears or is included in scenes where Scarlet Pimpernel is discussed. It even seems random and makes readers wonder why Percy is being introduced in particular scenes. 2. Percy reacts so sharply and sensitively to Marguerite's past. His reactions toward the past are clearly contrasted to those toward other normal occasions where Percy shows generosity and insensitivity.

I think there's a high possibility that Percy is Scarlett Pimpernel. For people in the story, Percy is the least likely person to have an ability to save people and be heroic since he's dumb and lacking as a person. That's why I think Percy is a really smart guy if (which is likely) he deliberately made himself look like that in front of other people. For him, it would be the best strategy to hide his identity. Also, Percy is pretty mean and harsh about the denunciation that his wife made. So there's a definite reason why he might be Scarlett Pimpernel since he does the opposite thing.

I also think that Percy could possibly be Scarlett Pimpernel. Pimpernel is the person that does not want to be known by anyone and by any means must stay a secret. Percy is the perfect candidate for that because if someone wants to stay unknown of identity he must pretend to be someone else or act like a person that no one would ever expect him to be the legendary Pimpernel that saves tons of aristocrats risking his life. It's the best way for Scarlet Pimpernel to be Percy because no one would ever expect a dumb and rich person that draws no attention to be Pimpernel. His wife doesn't even notice anything strange of him, he is the perfect man to be Pimpernel.

I believe that Scarlet Pimpernel is actually Percy. Since everyone knows the motif of Scarlet, it would be easy for them to recognize him through his courageous behavior. In front of his wife, Marguerite, Scarlet intentionally acts like a lazy and dull person in order to prevent people from noticing that he is actually Scarlet Pimpernel. In addition, Marguerite mentions somewhere in the book that she admires her husband, Percy, because he is good at driving the coach. Since Scarlet probably had lots of experiences driving the coach while saving the aristocrats from the guillotine, it is clearly evident that Scarlet Pimpernel is Percy.

Ok so some people spoiled it. (that sucks)
But Percy, he is mysterious till now. Not much of him is shown in the chapters till now, only his wife's expressions and feelings are shown in these chapters. Is it purposely done by the author (now that we have spoilers i guess the author did it on purpose to hide as much of him as possible)? Also, many of the comments think that he acts dumb, or he is dumb, but to me I do not see any of this. I think he is a very nice gentleman, and a very keen and cunning man as well. We can see this from his reaction to his wife's ratting out of the lord in France. He did not get angry at her up front, instead ignored her, but still treats her with respect as a wife.

If Percy really is the Scarlet Pimpernel, then you can't judge someone by their description in the beginning of the book. The characters can develop or help solve a problem that was presented early in the story. If Percy is the Scarlet Pimpernel, then he did a good job at making sure that his identity wasn't revealed.

waooo! i thought i was the only one who thought Percy was the Scarlet Pimpernel. He is definitely acting dumb, but the character feels very mysterious, that is what gives him the possibility of becoming the Scarlet Pimpernel.
