Up to what we have finished so far, Beowulf actually became a good and wise king " he ruled it well for fifty winters, grew old and wise as warden of the land". Throughout the story, Beowulf is such arrogant and always disdain his opponents but we can see such an kind man in side him such as he fights to help people and being mad for the death of people. Thus, I think it's the reason why he became a good king. however, in the beginning, i also think that Beowulf will turn into a flagitious tyrant.

Personally I think He's going to go and die or turn out in bad way, because the way he boast about himself and all the time brag about all the things he did toward monsters he has defeated. Referring to all the things from what we read, golden age of Beowulf has ended after the dragon has broken his chamber and has told in the book that he has everything, but he doesn't have anyone next to him to share with.

I think author wrote the part because author wanted compare Beowulf and Heremod such like good and evil. I think Beowulf is good hero until he die.

I believe that Beowulf is good at being a wise leader. That's why he has ruled the kingdom for 50 winters. He already beat Grendel and Grendel's mother, but in the story we can infer that they thinks the happiness will not last long,so in my thoughts he is going to turn out in a bad, which means he is gonna die or something bad is going to happen to him in the future.Let's see what's happening in the next part.

after beowulf beat Grendel and Grrendel's mother, the king Hrother change his attitude towards Beowulf. I believe that Beowulf is a good king however the power and reputation someitmes would change a person. Some people totally change after they become rich. There are many examples happened in the modern society. i also think Beowulf is a little prentitious. He just take the wood sword to fight with dragon . i think he believe his power too much.

I think the theme of Good king vs Good warrior appears. Perhaps arrogance is part of the good warrior's characteristic while generosity is part of the good king's trait. The author could be indirectly hinting a social comment. Maybe the author is suggesting a balance in character. A good king isn't capable of fighting monsters and saving his nation from destruction, but can manage a country and prosper disregarding any supernatural threats. Whereas, a good warrior is capable of displaying great amount of strength, yet will eventually be consumed by arrogance and greed. Since Beowulf killed the unbeatable Grendel and numerous threatening demons, Beowulf has already developed a level of confidence that can easily urge him to seek for more power.
Therefore, i think that Beowulf will eventually meet his biggest enemy, himself / arrogance.

Beowulf first was shown very arrogant and boastful just like any other heroes back in that era. though it was their culture, and they had to boast to show confidence, as a person who always sees humble heroes like captain america, i didnt understand this attitude, and still don't. However, after the defeat of Grendel's mother, Beowulf showed some major shift in his behavior/characteristic. Unlike before, he thanked god for the victory of the battle, and did not show any of the show-off charactersitic that was shown before. In this manner, i think there is a possibility of him changing to a good leader, not a dictator

I think Beowulf was great as a warrior in that he was confident of his power and very courageous towards the enemies he meet. He was sometimes arrogant as well but I don't necessarily think that such personality was bad for a great warrior. However,I personally think that Beowulf didn't make a good choice although he ruled the kingdom for 50 winters or so. The reason is that Beowulf decided to fight against the dragon. I think he shouldn't have done so and restrained himself from fighting the dragon because by this way, Beowulf could've ruled his kingdom longer since people respected him as a leader and he deserved the position.

I think Beowulf won't be dictator even though he got a lot of respect from his people because he showed his loyalty by killing Grendel and Grendel's mother. Also at the end of the book, When Beowulf die from fighting dragon, people were crying and depressed for his funeral. By looking at these things, I thought that Beowulf was not greedy king but good king.

Beowulf is certainly a boastful and arrogant hero, he puts pride in front of anything. At the same time, he does it for people, he is very courageous and fearless. Beowulf saves people from all the lethal attacks that are brought upon them. He protects people because he thinks it's his responsibility and his arrogance comes from not losing a single battle. He is a warrior and pride is essential for him to have, of course he could be more humble but it's not a very bad thing, such man deserves to be arrogant, it's not like he hurts anyone with his arrogance. Although, arrogance costed him his own life, he will still go down as one of the most humble kings and greatest warriors of all time.

For me, personally, I think Beowulf is actually a humble and generous warrior even though the narrator of this story mentions often that Beowulf boasts a lot about his accomplishments. Beowulf is actually fond of King Hrothgar and gives him lots of gratitude when Beowulf received lots of treasures. In addition, Beowulf did people's favor by slaying Grendel in order to prevent Grendel from further harming people. Throughout the poem, Beowulf portrayed as a humble warrior by lowering himself down and protecting people from danger.

There aren't always nice people in the world. Beowulf might be able to change into someone bad from someone good. People can change, but it doesn't always lead to becoming someone bad. Beowulf might die with honor or he might face his demise with shame or guilt. That all depends on the people themselves.

Beowulf was not greedy throughout the story and respected God for giving him the power. I don’t think he will be selfish in the future. Beowulf made a bad decision when he decided to fight against the dragon because he was old and it is unlikely that he will have the same strength as he did fifty years ago. I predict that Beowulf will die at the end and chaos will come to the Anglo-Saxon community.

I think that Beowulf would turn out to be a good king, at least to the standards of the people at the time. Although he may appear to be a bit boastful and bragging of his talents, such confidence and fluency of speech was seen as a value of a good-ruler. Also, since Beowulf is probably the strongest man throughout the whole world at the time, no other nation would have dared to attack the Geats so even be his mere existence, Beowulf would have been able to protect his own people. But above all, he would be a caring king as it could be seen in how he fought for others, those who aren't even his own people, and yet risked his own life in saving theirs. Such traits I believe are sufficient enough to demonstrate what a good king Beowulf will become to be.
