1. Satire is a way of using words when people are trying to make fun of someone or a situation. An example of a satire is Slaughter House 5 because he using aliens as an excuse for his absence, which we don't know whether it was real or not.

1. In my own words, Satire is to make fun of the object, usually for criticizing about it.

I am going to choose number 3. People keep on craving more. I mean that it is impossible for people to feel satisfied with their current possessions. Therefore, peoples' greed is endless.

3. I think greed is a part of human nature. People can go really far and would do anything (even if it's immoral) to accomplish their greed. People follow their greedy instincts and they can turn like animals (inhuman) as they don't bother thinking about people around them, or consequences of their actions.

Luke, Lin, Justin
1. I define satire as a way to mock or express one's feeling, often in offensive and mocking manner. For example, this morning, I told Luke that for my AP economics project I wrote down "Everyone loves chicken, and so do I." Then Luke said "Oh, that sounds so economic." This is a perfect example of satire. Luke tried to mock me by implying that my topic was bad.
2. We think that it is pretty much same, but got worse. The distinction is getting worse and worse, losing the middle class.
3. Mankind in general, they can go as far as killing someone or hurting themselves to satisfy their greed, which is often related to money. For instance, people harm others to get money and other desires.
4. People use satire to correct something in indirect manner so that people won't get hurt.

3. Once people get greedy, it is most likely for them to loose their self-control. A big example is Frankenstein. Frankenstein was blindfolded with amibtion and greed that he didn't know what he was creating. He spent all his time doing immoral things without noticing it. To accomplish one's greed, he or she can go as far as one can.

1. satire is when you use word to mock or ironically criticize other people. For example, a student asks the teacher "Can I go to the bathroom" and the teacher be like "Can you".

1. Satire is using extreme examples and/or sarcasm to describe or condemn reality. 2. There is still a gap between the rich and the poor no matter what. 3. It depends really, since we all have different morals and what not. 4. It is like a strike on the head, it tells us the extreme and kind of tells us the reality through extremes

4. How can 'satire' be used to teach a lesson/moral?
For example, in 'The Modest Proposal', the author is using satire to highlight a social issue, which is the inequality between the classes. I believe that he uses this shocking proposal to show the rich that they're being so callous towards the poor, they might as well eat their babies to help them.
What i learned from The Modest Proposal is how the class system is incredibly unfair towards the poor.

1. Satire is the use of mockery to give the message to the audience. I used it to write a novel when I was in 9th grade. 2. No; the rich lives better than the poor and has more influence. 3. Greed can go as far as possible depending on the moral of that person. 4. To teach difficult lessons easily such as environmental issues (Example: How to Pollute the Earth)

3. I think people can go far as they can to accomplish what they want, even if they are risking themselves. Somebody says "Human's greed is endless," and I totally agree to it

I think that the living standards of people in this world has changed becasue a lot of technological and ideological advancements occured between the past and now. The influence of the rich on power has also decreased from the past however, the income gap and the wealth between the rich and the poor is still high.

1. How would you define "satire"? Give an example of when you used "satire", and define satire in own words. Satire is an exaggerated mockery that criticizes people for their stupidity. You see a lot of satirical skits on SNL that mock people in the mass media.
2. Has anything changed, then and now between the rich and poor? A lot has changed within the social aspects between the rich and the poor but I do feel like there is still a very big gap between them that makes it harder for the poor to get above the low class.
3. How far can people go in order to accomplish their greed? There are a lot of greedy people in this world that would do anything in order to get what they want. I personally think violence is the furthest you can go.
4. How can "satire" be used to teach a lesson/moral? A satire can be used to teach people to realize how ridiculous and unethical their ideas can be. It sort of reminds me of the opposite effect.

1. How would you define "satire"? Give an example of when you used "satire", and define satire in own words. I think satire means that when we face something really important, and we need put all the thing on that important thing and maybe because of that we may lost all the things we have but we still think those things are worthy to do. If i must give an example of satire, i think the example related to studying could to be true. If i want to have good grades , I must satire my resting time to study. Satire means we need put the time we want to relax to d othose so-called necessary thing. 2. Has anything changed, then and now between the rich and poor? i think if people are changed a lot when they change from poor into rich or from rich into poor. When people change from poor into rich, this person would have more opportunities to enjoy the society resources and have more so-called friends and they can also get more respect form others. However, in the other way, if people change from rich int poor. Many of them maybe could not fit the situation and they may suicide to end their lifes. 3. How far can people go in order to accomplish their greed? I think the answer of this question depens on how greed those people are. If one person is really greedy, he must pay maybe thirty or fourty more years than others. Some very famous people such like Lincoln pay almost all his life to accomplish all his career. 4. How can "satire" be used to teach a lesson/moral? Satire could be used to teach people how to define whic is important and which is not.
