I don't want to look at this way but I think it does matter a lot. If I read Julius Caesar without knowledge of Shakespeare, I would not like it.

And also I often choose books depending on the author. If my favorite author introduced one non-famous book, I might like it too.

I don't think it matters what gender the author is. I believe that literature is a form of art and it should not be judged because of who creates the art. The writing should be judged strictly by the writing itself. If gender changes the way of how you view a book, it might be because you are affected by the society.

Sometimes I choose reader to classify the books I need. I think the gender of the author maybe would make an influence on the contents of the book or the gender of author maybe write the book from different point of views. In some ways, I think the gender of the author would amke such an influence.
