I don't think Hamlet was mad in the play. He pretended that he was mad for the revenge for his father. He was not the only one who saw the king Hamlet's ghost, so that does not prove that he was insane. He might have been slightly depressed because his father just died and his mother got married to his uncle right after. His girlfriend also left him because her father told her not to go out with him. So yea I think he had a reason to go a little weird.

Of course we was mad, Think about your father marry to father's brother. Who want will not get mad? Everyone will get mad. no one can pretend their emotions when this circumstance occur.

I think that Hamlet is mad because of the shock of losing his father. Losing someone is very sentimental and it hurts to know that someone he knows had pass away. I think he received too much mental damage that it might have destroyed his sanity and made him think of a possible excuse or method to kill Claudius.

I believe that Hamlet was acting to be mad in order to succeed in his plan for getting revenge on Claudius. He was pretty sane when he wanted to, when he was thinking of his plan, when he wasn't in front of other people.

I think he was mad at everything around him. Many bad things happened around him at the same time and he just started hate and mad at everything. He wanted someone to pay attention to him that's why he acted as a crazy.
