I know we shared our projects in class but we only got to know the ones within each of our classes, not the other one's. So let's share. There are already posts about the artistic pieces so let's talk about anything interesting about your character's social background. Anything from religion from history, everyday life, etc.
My group researched about the Green Knight and I found an interesting thing about the religion at the time. The knights of the round table are essentially Roman-British. They are depicted as strongly Christian, but the Roman-British were usually pagans, meaning that they believed in other gods. Christianity didn't come in until the fall of Rome. The time of King Arthur just happens to be when Christianity started to mix with the Roman-British paganism.

Well for my time period is in Britain 18th century, the Britain had less poverty than before, and new class was born called middle class. At this time some higher lower class became middle class and their life became more like the upper class.

In my group, composed of Daniel and Esther, we talked about Beatrice from Dante's Inferno. As we learned in the class, she died of young age. She was also married too, to the noble family. She didn't really recognized Dante; he was one of the several men she had met.
During this time period, most of the people believed in Catholic Church. Church had the absolute power and people had no choice but to follow them. However, there were countless corruptions in the church and people started to recognize the church's materialism. As a result, few people searched for other religions, and some denounced the church publicly. Church put lots of efforts to stop the revolution obviously. King and Pope also fought for the power; for instance, they fought over Investiture Controversy, which was right to appoint bishops.

My group researched Marguerite from Scarlet Pimpernel and found out that French people caused French Revolution based on American Revolution. The French government levied unfair taxations for lower class because Louis XVI wasted French treasury through royal extravagance and unnecessary wars such as Austrian War and French and Indian War. This was similar to what British government did to American colonists. When the American Revolution occurred and American Colony gained independence, French people wanted to have something similar to let people have equal rights. However, the result was different because there were continuous radical changes in the French government. For example, harsh radicals called Jacobins took over by storming Tuileries Palace, massacring Swiss Guards, and imprisoning Louis XVI. They took away properties of emigrants and ordered them to return. The mass execution of French aristocrats also started during this phase.

Our character is King Arthur. The reason why we chose him is because he is one of the most famous historical person and there are a lot of famous stories about him, so I thought it is easy to find his information. On the other had, I thought this is going to be a difficult point as well. So, I will try not to be confused at too much information.
