I think this really depends on the person. If they come across more literary works in which they use the word sorcerer to describe evil men with magic powers, then they would see sorcerers as evil and wizards as ordinary magic using men. It can be the opposite if the person happens to come across different literary works. The environment of where we live in really determines our conceptions of how we see those words.

I believe gender is not the factor that differentiates each term: witch, wizard, and sorcerer. I believe they all derive from different culture whereas witches and wizards came from Eastern Europe and sorcerers from the North.

As most of people already answered, witches is for woman, Wizards is for man and Sorcerer is for everyone having magical power including both man and woman. Now I quite interested in Sorcerer lol

I think actually all of them are same. Probably the difference of those words are just local difference of how it call.

I think witches is more in the potion making, and wizard is someone who already has the power. and sorcery is just magician.

I think withes are women sorcerer, wizards are male sorcerer and sorcerer is anybody who does magic.
